It classified the social statuses from monarchs, lords and bishops, knights and clergy, to peasants being the lowest clas s. Most of the pilgrims were knights. Abortion A Controversial Debate - 1305 Words

Abortions continue to be a controversial topic for not only the American people, but the congress as well. Republicans argue their views on why the American people should not be forced to pay taxes that will directly go to abortions procedures, and Democrats continue to rebut. At first glance, Planned Parenthood looks like a resourceful and productive organization that offers reproductive services through 700 (Planned Parentho od, 2015) different medical sites. Most of their services are beneficial and provide low income Americans with services such as mammograms cervical testing, STD prevention and medication, birth control, reproductive education and precautionary measures. However, it also provides abortions. Although abortions only consist of about 3% of their actual procedures, it is 3% too much (Planned Parenthood, 2015). Because of the 3% margin used on abortions, Republicans want to defund Planned Parenthood. Why should the Americans people be forced to pay for something they oppose to? Although the Hyde Amendment bans the use of federal funds to finance abortion procedures, just like everything else, there are stipulations. According to Medicaid, they can provide funds for abortion on extreme cases that involve incest, rape, and pregnancy that endangers a person’s life (Herold, 2013). However, this does not apply to all states, and some states have made revisions. Currently, 17 states offe r abortion procedures through Medicaid. Inevitably, Planned Parenthood and Medicaid recipients will be the most affected by defunding
